                          PETIN - METON calendar

The basic types of the calendars

Below it is considered  4 basic types of  calendars:

- solar calendar [units of measurement  (Gregorian, tropical) - days, months, solar  years],

- lunar-solar calendar [units of measurement (Petin-Meton) - days, lunar months, lunar years,  Meton cycles],

- astronomical calendar [units of measurement (Gregorian, tropical) days, months, solar years],

- independent calendar  [units of measurement no months or years tropical days].

The solar and lunar-solar calendars are the civil calendars.

The astronomical calendar intends for the different calculating,

The independent calendar has no months or years, but merely counts the days since the

beginning ( 0 ) of  the New PETIN-METON Calendar  epoch, which was at

noon of  December, 21,  4694 BCE (on the Gregorian proleptic calendar).  This

calendar can be applied for calculations, and also as way station for the conversion of

a date from one calendar to another calendar.

Below the table shows some correspondences between the calendars (see also -   http://Petin2Mikhail.narod.ru/index.htm    -  Natural cycles ).

Notes:   1.  A dates of  New Moon ( December 20, 1786 and  January 19, 1787 CE)  was taken

from  the  tables   "Eclipse Predictions by Fred Espenak,  NASA/GSFC".

               2.  The threefold combination of natural phenomenon:

                          -  the Southern solstice,   December,  21, 1786,

                          -  the solar eclipse  1,  December,  20, 1786,

                          -  the solar eclipse  2,  January,  19,  1787  -

is  the UNIQUE  natural combination, which can be observed only in 6479 solar years or in

( 341x235 - 1)  lunations :

The combination  1 could be observed  like:

-  the Southern solstice,   December,  21,  -4693 solar year (Astronomical Gregorian Calendar),

-  the solar eclipse  1,  December,  20,  -4693 solar year (Astronomical Gregorian Calendar),

-  the solar eclipse  2,  January,  19,  -4692 solar year (Astronomical Gregorian Calendar).

The combination  2 could be observed  like:

-  the Southern solstice,   December,  21, 1786 ,

-  the solar eclipse  1,  December,  20, 1786 ,

-  the solar eclipse  2,  January,  19,  1787

The combination  3 will be observed like:

-  the Southern solstice,   December,  21, 8265 ,

-  the solar eclipse  1,  December,  20, 8265 ,

-  the solar eclipse  2,  January,  19,  8266 .

etc.
